The fans in the Barclays Center last night were excited about Deron Williams’ three point barrage, but they cheered the loudest for Reggie Evans. After all, Reggie had a career-night himself with the 24 rebounds he pulled down in 32 minutes. But in true Reggie fashion, he struggled to score. He only attempted six field goals, but thanks to Wittman’s hack-a-Reggie strategy, he went to the free throw line a lot. 16 times in fact. And he only made five of them, which even by his standards is terrible.
But with four minutes to go in the game, he had one final chance to get into double digits. With an airballed free throw fresh in his mind from a little over 30 seconds before, he stepped to the line, casually dropped in both attempts and sent the Barclays Center into a frenzy. It was his 11th point of the game and his first double-double since February 6th.
Just another day in the office for the bearded one we call Reggie Evans.
